FAQ

Segs in the City has one of the safest track records in the industry and we are meticulous about the care and maintenance or our equipment. We also care about personal service and to enhance your experience we offer one on one training prior to the tour and audio equipment to aid in hearing our guides along the way.  To ensure your safety and enjoyment we limit the size of our safaris to a maximum of 8 riders per guide.

As you can appreciate we have limited spaces available on the Safaris, therefore cancellations have to be made 24 hours in advance. Any cancellations made between 24 and 2 hours prior to the scheduled Safari time will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. No shows and cancellations within less than 2 hours notice will be charged the full fee. Cancellations must be made by calling 410 276 7347 and receiving a cancellation confirmation email. Email requests for cancellations will not be accepted.

Reschedules will be accepted up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled Safari time. Requests for reschedules within 24 hours of the departure time will be subject to a $10 per person rescheduling fee.  Reschedule requests will not be accommodated 2 hours before the tour start time.

Additions to party numbers is subject to availability. Reduction of party numbers is subject to our cancellation policies. No shows or non notification of reduced party numbers will be charged the full fee. For changes to your reservation please call us at 410 276 7347

We want everyone to have fun, but if the weather is not cooperating we do have a couple of options. If it is a light drizzle, we will continue with the safari and issue riders with a free rain poncho. If heavy thunderstorms and lightning is forecast we will contact you ahead of time to discuss delaying, rescheduling or even cancelling the safari.

Similar to a last minute cancellation, we only have limited availability of Segways so if you elect to discontinue the Safari once started for any reason you will be charged the full fee. If you elect to not commence the tour after the training session you will be refunded 50% of the tour fee.

Segways are permitted on sidewalks, bike paths and roadways. The maximum speed is limited to 10mph.

Weight: Segway recommends the maximum weight of riders be restricted to 260lbs, as this will ensure the maximum battery usage. Some folks maybe a little over this weight (5 – 10lbs) and this will not generally affect the performance of the Segway.

Age: There is a minimum age 14 to do the tour and 18 to rent a Segway.  There is no maximum age, but riders need to keep in mind that they will be standing the entire time they are on the Safari.

General health: Like all outdoor activities, participants need to be aware of their own limitations and weather conditions such as extreme heat.  Please also ensure that you are hydrated, have eaten and taken any necessary medicines prior to your safari. Let your guide know if you have any medical conditions that may impair your driving of the Segway.  Unfortunately riding a Segway is not recommended for participants who are pregnant.

Participants numbers: A minimum of two participants is required to conduct a tour. Typical tour groups sizes range up to 8 persons per guide.

Wear comfortable, flat shoes as you will be standing for a minimum of an hour at a time. Clothing should be comfortable and suitable to the weather, realizing that you may generate a breeze with the segway. In cooler weather wear gloves to keep your hands warm.

Partipants are required to arrive 15 minutes prior to the tour start time, please be aware of and plan for traffic congestion and other events that may cause delays. Anyone that arrives after the tour start time may be prevented from joining the tour and will be rescheduled on the next available tour.  All such reschedules will be subject to the rescheduling fee plus any differences in tour prices.

Tipping tour guides 15% is customaryGuides greatly appreciate gratuities as they work hard and make every effort to ensure your comfort. Besides informing you of points of interest,  instructing  you on the best methods of using and handling the Segway in your control, they are at your service should you need extra assistance.  If you believe your guide has provided good service then please do not hesitate to show your appreciation.
